2013 Jean-François d'Or

Jean-François D’or graduated in 1998 as an industrial designer at ENSAV/La Cambre in Brussels and took his first professional steps at Light, a Belgian lighting company where D’Or got the opportunity to work with leading designers such as Maarten Van Severen and Hans De Pelsmacker. 2003 marked the start of his own Brussels-based studio Loudor Design Studio.

The unpretentious products of Jean-François D’Or give a clear answer to the demands of producers as well as the needs of the end-users. His style is pure and meticulous, always with a hint of poetry.

Jean-François D’Or’s broad portfolio consists of furniture, outdoor products and accessories. His work for renowned brands such us Ligne Roset, Reflect+, Serax and Toss B gave him international recognition.

The Designer of the Year award is an initiative by the Biennale Interieur and the magazines Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend. Jean François d’Or was awarded the prize in 2013. He has his own studio Loudor Design Studio and is known for his work for brands like Ligne Roset, Vervloet and Toss B.
