Marktomstandigheden onvoldoende hersteld, Biënnale INTERIEUR 2022 gaat niet door

Na een succesvolle editie van ‘Please, have a seat’ in 2021 georganiseerd op de Van
Marcke site in Kortrijk in het kader van het Wonder stadsfestival, kondigde de
vernieuwde formule voor INTERIEUR 2022 zich beloftevol aan.
Met ‘The Digital Era’ als titel, werd een krachtige editie voorgesteld, die de toekomst van design in een digitale –
fysieke wereld in de spotlights wou zetten.

De talrijke verschuivingen in de kalender van de interieur- en designbeurzen als gevolg
van de pandemie laten zich echter tot op vandaag voelen. De impact op de
internationale interieur- en beurswereld blijft enorm groot, waardoor de organisatie
van een event als de Biënnale een te grote uitdaging blijkt. De garantie op een
succesvolle en kwalitatieve editie in economisch onzekere tijden is dan ook een te groot
risico.

De 27 e editie van de Biënnale Interieur, die van 20 tot en met 24 oktober in
Kortrijk Xpo zou plaatsvinden, wordt bijgevolg geschrapt.

Het opzet om volop te inspireren en mensen samen te brengen rond design blijft
onverminderd bestaan. De organisatie beraadt zich over de toekomst en neemt de tijd
om een alternatief te bedenken dat inspeelt op de nieuwe noden van de markt.

Market conditions insufficiently recovered, Biennale INTERIEUR 2022 will not
take place

After a successful edition of "Please, have a seat" in 2021 organised at the Van
Marcke site in Kortrijk during the Wonder city festival, the renewed formula for
INTERIEUR 2022 announced itself promising.

Titled "The Digital Era", it presented a powerful edition that wanted to put the future of design in a digital - physical world in
the spotlight.

However, the numerous shifts in the calendar of furniture fairs due to the pandemic are still being felt today.
The impact on the international interior- and designfair world remains enormous,
making the organisation of an event such as the Biennale too challenging.

The guarantee of a successful and qualitative edition in economically uncertain times is therefore too great a risk.

Consequently, the 27th edition of the Interieur Biennale, which was to take place in Kortrijk Xpo from 20 to 24 October, has
been cancelled.

The intention of Interieur to inspire and bring people together around design remains unchanged.
The organisation is taking its time to reflect on the future and come up with an alternative that responds to the new needs of the market.

Intitulée "L'ère numérique", elle présentait une édition puissante qui voulait mettre en lumière l'avenir du design dans un monde numérique et physique.

Cependant, les nombreux bouleversements du calendrier des salons de design et d’intérieur dus à la
pandémie se font encore sentir aujourd'hui. L'impact sur le monde international de l'intérieur et des
salons reste énorme, ce qui rend l'organisation d'un événement tel que la Biennale trop difficile.
Lagarantie d'une édition réussie et qualitative en période d'incertitude économique est donc un risque
trop grand.

Par conséquent, la 27e édition de la Biennale Interieur, qui devait se tenir à Kortrijk Xpo du 20 au 24 octobre, a été annulée.

L'intention d'inspirer et de rassembler les gens autour du design reste inchangée. L'organisation
réfléchit à l'avenir et prend son temps pour proposer une alternative qui réponde aux nouveaux
besoins du marché.
