YBDD / Germany

Ybdd (Yasmine Benhadj-Djilali): Soft Targets. When Form Follows Flight. A series of hollow man-sized, more sculptures than furniture, coffins almost, that offer an immediate escape from the surroundings. If 'soft target' is an expression used for persons unprotected or vulnerable, these inhabitable sculptures provide that protection, as a temporary hideaway where one can regenerate. Abstract, geometrical, and with its mirroring surface, the sculpture is meant to submerge in its surroundings, enhancing the feeling that one is invisible and safe.
