Volokhova Porcelain & Shapes In Play / Germany

Volokhova Porcelain (Maria Volokhova) and Shapes in Play (Johanna Spath and Johannes Tsopanides): Bestiarium porcelain dinner set . When Form Follows Fear. The studios combined their different approaches to create something truly new of cultural relevance, breaking boundaries, playful and unconventional. While Volokhova Porcelain contributed an artistic background and its experience in analogue porcelain design, Shapes brought in its knowledge in the fields of digital creation and algorithms. Inspired by the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, the objects inscribe themselves in the history of using composite creatures that are both marvelous and monstrous, commenting on frightening technological and social developments, the hybrid character of progress and the relationship between nature and technology.
