Klemens Grund & Thomas Schnur / Germany

Klemens Grund & Thomas Schnur: Klappstuhl meets Twist side table.
When Form Follows Flexibility (2). Two designers, two pieces of furniture. Exclusively for the Biennale, both designers united in a project in which two of their most recent designs, Grund’s Klappstuhl and Schnur’s Twist Table, enter into a dialogue. Klappstuhl
is a chair of solid oak with a floating arm and backrest. The simple addition of a second frame and a barely recognizable mechanism for locking the legs also turn it into a folding chair. As to the Twist side table: its base frame is made of twisted flat rods. The double use of three elements creates a rigid, stable structure which, thanks to the twisting, nevertheless appears light and delicate. The table communicates portability. It can be used flexibly in the most varied of spaces.
