Argent Alu / Belgium

Minimalistic architecture swears by clean lines, sobriety and a 'back-to-the-basics' mentality. If you choose this style, you will naturally want the same look in your interior fittings. In that case, you will prefer your hardware completely recessed and door frames that are no longer visible. Argenta's ‘invisible concept’ goes even a step further. Swinging, pivoting and sliding doors can be recessed invisibly into a wall - from door frame to hinges to side channels, and even the skirting-board.

Unique stand design at INTERIEUR 2016 by LOT architects

LOT architects

LOT is an architecture and design studio established in 2010 in Greece and New York, developing ideas that engage architecture and design, arts and culture, focused on applying strong design concepts with consciousness and pragmatism.

We work on an array of projects ranging in scale and complexity from objects and installations to interior spaces and buildings. Architectural practice acts as the office’s core foundation, but we frequently explore related disciplines through concept and materiality using digital tools combined with traditional techniques for testing and executing ideas that aim to create unique spatial experiences with beauty and clarity in form, intellectual and material innovation.

Our work has received the award for the Best Project of the Year Award at the Greek Architecture Awards in 2012 and distinctions in architectural competitions in Belgium and Finland. We have also presented our work in exhibitions, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Biennale of Young Greek Architects, and the Salone Internationale del Mobile in Milan.

In 2013 LOT was shortlisted for the European Piranesi Award and in 2014 the office was selected for the Wallpaper* Architects Directory, the iconic magazine’s list of the best architectural talent from around the globe. In 2015 LOT formed Objects of Common Interest. A design project with the focus in creating objects and installations in search of inspirational moments in materiality, process and concept.
